OK so you’re wondering “How can I find unclaimed money owed to me?” Well lemme tell ya, you’re not alone!
There Are Billions of Dollars Unclaimed. Just the sound of that is ridiculous. People leaving money on the table without claiming it, but they can’t be the blame if they don’t know they got a stake in it.
If you’re strapped for cash – and even if you’re not – you may have a windfall just waiting to blow your way! How could this be you ask? Well, perhaps you just haven’t claimed it yet. Do you realize that billions of dollars (and valuables) go unclaimed every year? This may be unclaimed money from the government owed to you – or money from people or places you have done business with in the past.
Now don’t kick yourself, like I said you’re not the only one, and besides you don’t know if you have cash unclaimed just yet…but what if you do! Then you can kick your heels all the way to the bank! 😀
The National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) reports that it regulary holds BILLIONS in unclaimed cash and valuables – which consists of abandoned bank accounts, unclaimed stocks and other assets?
By law, companies are suppose to try their best to return money to its rightful owners, but many neglect to do this – or do not make a grand effort to locate the owner. So it just remains unclaimed and eventually has to be turned over to the government of the state of the the last known owner.
Unclaimed Cash Exists Due To The Following Reasons
- Closed/abandoned bank accounts
- Tax refunds that were lost or unclaimed
- Perhaps you’ve moved; businesses can’t locate you
- Unclaimed rebate checks
- Inheritance money
- Monies of deceased family members
- Forgotten bank accounts
- Forgotten insurance policies
- Uncashed checks & dividends
And the list goes on & on…
These are some of the top reasons why people leave cash and other valuables unclaimed. With so many people having super busy lifestyles these days, it no wonder why cash falls through the cracks. Government and businesses will only put in so much effort to track you down to give you your money. After that they leave it up to YOU to track them down. And if you don’t…oh well…eventually somebody’ll get it! Somebody like the Government!
THINK! How can I find unclaimed money owed to me?
There are several ways to find unclaimed money and valuables owed to you. Here’s a few mental joggers:

Will it be hard to get the missing money once found?
It shouldn’t be hard to get your cash once you track it down and prove that it’s rightfully owed to you. The check has probably been waiting for you for a long time, and will practically jump in your arms once it merely senses your presence:)
